Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) said: “I will be like this in Jannah with the person who takes care of an orphan.” He raised his forefinger and middle finger by way of illustration [Sahih al-Bukhari].
We’ve formed a donors group for a deserving family of orphaned siblings—five brothers and a sister (she’s not pictured). Rustam Mir had cancer and died in March 2023. His widow (Sakina Bibi) and children live in rented housing in Muzaffarabad. When we initially made contact with this family in April 2023, only the oldest child was enrolled in a madrasah. Although the mother of these children receives some financial support from the govt. funded BISP Kafalat programme, the stipend is insufficient to cover living expenses. The children’s schooling has been disrupted by poverty, internal migration, and the sudden death of their father. Alhamdulillah, we can now help these children on a monthly basis. Thank you so much to everyone who made it possible.
