Farida Alam is a published poet residing in Karachi. Her inspiration stems from poets such as Ghalib, Faiz, Iftikhar Arif and John Alea. Owning to her taste in literature, her own work is multifaceted and takes root in contemporary societal problems, the ingrained truths of life itself and explores its beauty embedded in the bitter tragedies. Her work is highlighted with the spiritual and imageries steeped with nature. Aside from writing, she has worked in the pharmaceutical industry as General Manager Quality Operations for 35 years and now as a retiree spends her time reading, travelling and doing community services.
