Bushra Hazeen is a senior poetess of Urdu and Punjabi. Along with poetry, she also writes stories and fiction.
Politics is also one of her hallmarks. She has been a Member of Parliament from 2002 to 2007. During this time she was the Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Environment
She has represented Pakistan in the 59th session of the United Nations as a Parliamentary Secretary.
She is the daughter of Nazir Ahmed Akhtar -an accomplished poet in four languages, Urdu, Arabic, Persian and Punjabi. His Urdu Book ‘Fikr-e-Iqbal O Rumi’ is considered a valuable contribution in the understanding of Sufism.
She has also been a host on Radio Pakistan and a script coordinator on Pakistan TV and later a news producer as well.
Many of her poems have been translated and published in other countries.
She has been awarded by Khawaja Farid Sangat for Punjabi poetry.
She has also received an award for excellence in Punjabi poetry from a literary organization in England.
Her first collection of Urdu poetry titled ” ترسات ” will be published soon۔
